Ska Cubano History: Ska Cubano was founded by British music lover Peter Scott, who is a fan of both Jamaican ska and Cuban music. He set out to create a band that fused these sounds, and started out with renowned British ska singer Natty Bo. Scott and Bo headed to Cuba to find musicians to work on this project, and came across Beny Billy, a well-known Cuban vocalist.
The Ska Cubano Sound: Ska Cubano performs live with a band as large as 11 pieces, with full percussion and horn sections. Their sound is dynamic and exciting, and comes across as entirely natural and authentic; it's hard to believe that the band was created as a "concept", and is not just a natural outgrowth of actual musical evolution.
Ska Cubano CDs: Though Ska Cubano released one CD previously, they made waves with their internationally-distributed Ay Caramba! in 2006 (Compare Prices. This CD release was accompanied by a large-scale tour of the United States.
